Hello, I am Ana
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. An expat currently residing in Madrid, Spain.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t in the cards for our long-range plans. As with countless expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than necessary.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Yet gradually routines settled in. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt secure.
Why I Built Cinder Quill Grove
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site OFFERS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when there is a real change
This site ISN'T:
- An official tourism-resource reference
- A paid-review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ana
